Monday, February 8 – Wednesday, February 10: During these 3 days, you will have tons of fun as you participate in a number of activities with the children at our child development centers. Much of the time will be spent hosting children’s ministry, where you can share God’s love, play games and create crafts.

Preparing for your trip: One Child Matters does not require any immunizations; however, it is always wise to have your tetanus shot up-to-date. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (, “You should become familiar with what steps to take and who to contact in case of a medical emergency while you are traveling.” We recommend that six to eight weeks before your departure, you consult with your physician, local health department or the CDC website for information required and recommended immunizations for the country you will be traveling to. Some vaccinations require a series of doses spaced weeks apart.

Background Check: To ensure the safety of our children and determine eligibility to travel with One Child Matters, all travelers must complete a criminal background check. To process background checks, One Child Matters uses a third party company. After completing trip registration, please send in your $45 to pay for your background check. The $45 is nonrefundable – if your background check is approved, the funds will be applied toward your overall trip cost. The results of the background check are confidential and all personal information is kept in a secure location.
