Child Development Centers (CDCs) are Mission of Mercy’s most widely utilized program model. CDCs essentially provide children and adolescents enrolled in Mission of Mercy projects with activities and services that help them develop holistically. There are two categories of CDCs: Church-Based and Partner-Based.

With Church-Based Child Development Centers, we work with local evangelical churches that desire to minister to children or are already doing so. When looking to partner with potential churches, Mission of Mercy seeks out those that are located in the poorest communities in order to make as large of a positive impact as possible. Mission of Mercy operates the CDC out of these same local church facilities and staffs it with members of the local church as well, which helps us avoid spending money on expensive building projects and allocate the savings to other pressing needs.

Partner-Based Child Development Centers do not use a local church’s facilities or staff. Instead, the partners, which are typically independent child ministry and service organizations, normally possess their own staff and facilities. Mission of Mercy simply provides the necessary funds and training to its partners so they can operate the CDCs. By working with partner organizations, Mussion of Mercy can reach areas where the Church is weak or absent.
